The Tashkent Solar Energy Storage Project is a landmark renewable energy initiative in Uzbekistan, aiming to enhance the country’s clean energy capacity and grid stability. Located approximately 20 kilometers northeast of Tashkent, the capital city, the project comprises a 200 megawatt (MW) solar photovoltaic (PV) plant coupled with a 500 megawatt-hour (MWh) battery energy storage system (BESS). This BESS is notable for being the largest of its kind in Central Asia.
